A fantastic days racing at Camberley Kart Club for round two of the championship!

With a smaller grid of 11 and a dry day ahead I was hopeful for a good result.

I started heat 1 in 9th position. I didn’t make a great start but over the course of the race managed to climb my way up to 6th place.

For heat 2 I would line up in 6th position. I made a good start and had a great race to finish 3rd on track. However the winner was given a penalty so I was promoted to 2nd place.

Heat 3 I started pole. Unfortunately I lost out at the start and lost a position. My exhaust bracket also snapped during this race so the exhaust started to come apart from the engine so I had a loss of power, but still managed 3rd position.

Dad did a great job to get this repaired for the final may I add!

These decent heat results meant I would start 3rd place for the final. I had a great start and put myself into 2nd place. I managed to stay in 2nd place lights to flag! This wasn’t as easy as it sounds as a few rated drivers behind me were keeping the pressure on over an exhausting 28 lap race!

All in all a fantastic days racing, 3rd race day in seniors, which puts me 3rd in the drivers championship, one point behind 2nd.

Thank you so much for the support, and for getting us tyres, really does make a difference in helping me to achieve my goals!

Few words from Dad:

Improving race craft resulted in 3 great heats which allowed for a clean start in the final. Amazing 28 lap drive under constant pressure to land 2nd place – very impressive!

Next race forest edge kart club round 3 – 5/5/19
